Wetaskiwin Alta., – On Saturday July 2nd, 2016, at approximately 8:45 p.m. a Wetaskiwin RCMP officer conducted a traffic stop in the city that lead to the seizure of several illicit drugs. The officer pulled over a Chevy Trailblazer near the intersection of 57th Avenue and 47th Street after it was parked blocking another motor vehicle.
The officer immediately recognized the front passenger and arrested her for breaching her conditions. Open liquor was found in the vehicle which then lead officers to search the vehicle. Police located several drugs and weapons inside the vehicle.
Police seized over 4 ounces of Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth), over 4 ounces of Cocaine, and a controlled substance believed to be Gammahydroxybutyrate which is often referred to as GHB, or a “date rape drug”. Along with the illicit drugs police seized brass knuckles, several knives, several cell phones and other drug paraphernalia.
All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged in relations to the drugs, weapons, and open liquor.
Desyre MACAHONIC, 33, or Wetaskiwin, has been charged with five counts of failing to comply with conditions, possession of cocaine, crack cocaine, and Methamphetamine all for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of open liquor in a motor vehicle.
Christopher KOLODY, 33, of Camrose, has been charged with possession of cocaine, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of GHB, possession of methamphetamine for personal use, possession of a prohibited weapon, and having open liquor in a motor vehicle.
Kody Vaudry, 27, of Wetaskiwin, has been charged with possession of cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking as well as possession of cocaine for personal use.
All three have been remanded to court in Wetaskiwin on July 5th, 2016.
