Several rural break and enters in Sherwood Park, Alberta

RCMP-1205Sherwood Park, Alberta – Strathcona County RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in gathering information on the following crimes:

Sometime between the hours of 8:25 a.m. and 1:25 p.m. on Monday August 15, 2016 a break and enter occurred at a rural property located on Range Road 220 near Township Road 512 in Sherwood Park, Alberta. It appears that forced entry was gained through the garage door. Once inside culprits made off with three laptops, three iPad’s and jewelry.

Sometime between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Monday August 15, 2016 a break and enter occurred at a rural property located on Range Road 232 near Township Road 512 in Sherwood Park, Alberta. It appears that forced entry was gained through the front and rear door. Once inside culprits made off with two laptops, Canadian currency, passport and iPad.

Sometime between Saturday August 13, 2016 and Saturday August 20, 2015 a break and enter occurred at a rural property located on Range Road 232 near Township Road 512 in Sherwood Park, Alberta. It appears that forced entry was gained through the south side green house door. Once inside culprits made off with passports, birth certificates and several pieces of jewelry.

Sometime between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:50 p.m. on Monday August 22, 2016 a break and enter occurred at a rural property located on Range Road 225 near Township Road 524 in Sherwood Park, Alberta. It appears that forced entry was gained through the garage door. Once inside culprits made off with Stihl hedge cutters and a Stihl leaf blower.

Sometime between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. on Monday August 22, 2016 a break and enter occurred at a rural property located on Range Road 224 near Township Road 525 in Sherwood Park, Alberta. It appears that forced entry was gained through the basement door. Once inside culprits made off with a blue Carvin 4 string guitar and a red Gibson guitar.

Residential safety tips:

• Keep your shrubs and trees trimmed to avoid blocking your doors and windows.
• Doors should be well lit or lit by motion detector lights.
• Always ensure your doors are locked and windows are secured. Even if you are just outside working in your yard, lock the doors.
• Do not leave a spare key hidden outside or in the garage.
• Watch out for suspicious activity, people and vehicles in your neighborhood and report it to police immediately.
• Keep inventory and document serials numbers of all your valuables.
