68-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Struck in Lloydminster

RCMP-1205Lloydminster, Saskatchewan – On September 7, 2016, just after 7:00 A.M., Lloydminster RCMP responded to a collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of 51 Avenue and 31 Street.

The pedestrian was walking south across 31 Street and was struck by an East bound truck. The 68 year old Lloydminster woman was taken to hospital with serious but none life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a cross walk.

“The time of day played a large role in this collision,” said Constable Grant Kirzinger. ” Both pedestrians and drivers need to take extra care at intersections, especially when the sun is low reducing visibility.”
