Boyle RCMP investigate a number of stolen vehicles

RCMP-1205Boyle, Alberta – Between September 4th and 6th 2016, the Boyle RCMP received reports of four separate stolen vehicles.


During the night of September 4 or the early morning hours of September 5, a Hyundai Elantra was stolen from a residence within the Village of Boyle. This vehicle was subsequently recovered submerged in the Athabasca River by the Athabasca RCMP on September 5.

On September 6 a stolen 2008 Chevrolet Silverado was recovered near the Long Lake Provincial Park south of Boyle. The vehicle had been stolen in Fort Saskatchewan on September 4.

Again on September 6, two vehicles were reported stolen from a business near Boyle. The first vehicle was a black 2008 Ford F450 Dully Pick up truck. The second was a 2014 red/burgundy Dodge Ram 1/2 ton bearing Alberta licence plate EWV552. The Ford pickup truck was recovered on September 7 near Hope Lake north of Boyle while the Dodge remains outstanding.

The RCMP are presently looking into all these matters and at this time it is uncertain if any are related. This is an unusually high number of vehicle theft investigation for the Boyle Detachment and members are seeking public assistance.
