Fatal Collision in Saskatoon Claims Two

SASKATOONSaskatoon, SK: Saskatoon Police advise the public that both northbound and southbound lanes of traffic are now open on Circle Drive near the 108th Street exit after a fatal collision.


Police were called to a multi-vehicle collision at approximately 1:25 p.m., September 7, 2016. Preliminary investigation shows that a northbound vehicle lost control, crossed the median, and struck a southbound vehicle. The Collision Analyst Unit continues to investigate.

Saskatoon Fatal CollisionA 70-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name is not being released at this time.

A 17-year-old man (incorrectly identified as being 18 in previous releases) was transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from hospital and is in Police custody. Charges are pending for Dangerous Driving Causing Death, Breach of Probation (x2) and Breach of Undertaking (x2).

This incident remains under investigation.
