Morinville, Alberta – The Morinville RCMP Detachment and members from the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit –North, continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the human remains which were recovered in a rural area near the intersection of Township Road 540 and Rural Route 263 on the morning of Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
The remains have been identified as those of 25-year-old Sudesh Chamara Bombuwala of Edmonton. The investigation to date has confirmed that Mr. Bombuwala, or Sudesh, was also known by the nicknames, “Ricco” and “Johnny”. Police have determined that he had been kidnapped from his Edmonton residence prior to his murder.
The homicide investigation is moving forward however the RCMP is interested in hearing from anyone who may have saw suspicious activity in the area bordered by Secondary Highway 633 (on the north side), Township Road 540 (on the south side), Rural Route 263 (on the east side) and Secondary Highway 779 (on the west side) between 4:00 P.M. and 10:00 P.M. on Monday, August 8, 2016.
