Oxford, Nova Scotia – Cumberland District RCMP responded to a firearms complaint in Oxford last evening which resulted in the arrest of a 15-year-old-male.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m., Cumberland District RCMP responded to a call indicating that between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m, a 15-year-old-male had pointed a firearm at a 13-year-old-male while walking on a trail in Oxford. With assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services, police located and seized the firearm in a wooded area near the trail.
As a result of the investigation, the 15-year-old-male has been charged with the following offences:
- Uttering Threats Against a Person
- Pointing a Firearm
- Careless use of a Firearm
- Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Fail to Comply with an Undertaking x 2
The 15-year-old-male appeared in Amherst Provincial Court this morning and has been remanded into custody. He will appear in Amherst Provincial Court on September 12, 2016.
