Foul Play Not Suspected in Sudden Death Case

RCMP-1205Maple Ridge, B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP and the BC Coroner’s Service are investigating the sudden death of a woman whose body was found yesterday afternoon.


Police received a report of a female being located in a wooded area off of 116 Avenue, between 238a and 239 Street around 5:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Investigators secured the scene and the Coroner’s service was contacted and attended to start the preliminary investigation.

“There is no sign of foul play being involved,” said Corporal Brenda Winpenny. “An autopsy has been ordered and is expected to take place today which will give police and the coroner a probable cause of death. I can confirm that the body has been identified as the missing 56 year old woman Ridge Meadows RCMP were looking for yesterday.”

The investigation is continuing in conjunction with the BC Coroner.
