Boyle, Alberta – On September 8, 2016 RCMP in Boyle were alerted to a vehicle that had become stuck at an oil lease site northwest of the Village. RCMP members attended the scene and determined that the vehicle had been stolen in Slave Lake the previous day.
Patrols of the area were made for suspects involved with the stolen vehicle and with the help of witnesses two individuals were found wandering around a nearby farm yard. The two individuals, a male and a female, were taken into custody without incident.
The 38 year old male suspect was found to be on outstanding warrants in Westlock, Athabasca and Barrhead. All of the warrants related to possession of stolen vehicles.
The suspect, who cannot currently be named, has been charged with the following offences in the given jurisdictions:
Westlock, AB – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Theft Under $5000
Athabasca, AB – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
Barrhead, AB – Theft of a Motor Vehicle
A charge of possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 out of Boyle is pending.
Charges are currently pending against the 36 year old female for possession of a controlled substance.
