Nanaimo, BC: On September 09, 2016 at approximately 8:00 pm a 15 year old female was jogging on Country Club Drive near Divot Rd when a male tried to grab her and drag her into a wooded area. She was able to fight off her attacker.
The female told police she had been walking on the sidewalk for her cool down and was listening to some music with her earbuds in. She was on Country Club Drive, near a wooded area, near Kal Tire, when the suspect grabbed her by her wrist and tried to pull her towards the woods. She started to scream and fight back. He tried to unzip her jacket. She struggled with the male and he fell to the ground allowing her to run away. She did not sustain any physical injuries however was quite shaken by the experience. Nanaimo RCMP Victim Services are providing assistance to her.
The suspect is described as a white male, average build, approximately 6 ft, dirty fingernails and he was wearing a black or grey hoodie and jeans.
