Man Arrested in Scarborough Shotgun Shooting

Toronto_Police_Service_LogoToronto, Ontario – The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest made in a shooting investigation. On Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 11:50 p.m., police responded to a radio call for a shooting, in the area of Overture Road and Kingston Road.

– police located a 31-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound

– the man had been shot at close range with a shotgun

– the man was transported to hospital

On Tuesday, September 13, 2016, with the assistance of the Emergency Task Force, Rachard Dario Holder, 22, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1. Attempt Murder
2. Careless Use of a Firearm
3. Carry Firearm in a careless manner
4. Discharge firearm
5. Pointing a firearm
6. Possession of a Firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
7. Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
8. Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
9. Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
10. Fail to comply probation

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at 10 a.m., in courtroom 412.
