Masked liquor thief apprehended

RCMP-1205Whitecourt, Alberta – on the afternoon of September 15th, 2016, a masked assailant entered a liquor store on Kepler street in Whitecourt and stole two large bottles of whiskey. Staff at the liquor store gave chase and the assailant made off in a motor vehicle towards the east end of Whitecourt.


A short time later, police stopped a suspicious vehicle on the Old Blue Ridge Highway. The two bottles of liquor were located and recovered; one had been opened.

Three adult males and two young females were arrested from the car. Some of the adult males are on release conditions from other offences. A variety of charges, including disguising with intent to commit a criminal offence and shoplifting, are pending against the adult males. The young females were released to their parents.
