RCMP investigates fatal two-vehicle collision in Melford, N.S.

Melford, Inverness Co., Nova Scotia – Inverness District RCMP is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 105 in Melford today at about 9:30 a.m.


Preliminary investigation has determined that a truck which was pulling a camper trailer collided with an SUV. The truck was travelling towards Port Hawkesbury while the SUV was travelling towards Sydney. The female driver and sole occupant of the SUV died. Two men who were the occupants of the truck sustained what is believed to be non life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital.

An RCMP Traffic Analyst is attending the scene. Highway 105 is closed between Exits 2 and 3, and is expected to remain closed until late this afternoon. Further details about the occupants of the vehicles will be released pending notification of next of kin.
