Winnipeg, Manitoba – Between August 10, 2016 and September 14, 2016, 21 businesses across the city were broken into after regular business hours by a lone male suspect.
The suspect targeted a variety of businesses by smashing a window or door to gain entry. The suspect would then search the respective businesses for cash and other valuables.
As a result of these break-ins:
- A total of $22,450.00 in damage was caused.
- Over $16,000.00 in cash and merchandise was stolen.
The businesses involved range from restaurants, clothing stores, shopping mall, pet stores and a clinic.
The investigation continued by East District Detectives with the assistance of Division 13 Detectives, West District Detectives and General Patrol.
The project progressed resulting in the identification of a male suspect.
On September 15, 2016, search warrants were executed at residences on Selkirk Avenue, Manitoba Avenue and College Avenue.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., Clinton Garry QUESNEL, 37 years old of Winnipeg was located, arrested and charged with the 21 offences associated to break-ins and theft due to his alleged involvement.
He was remanded into custody.
