Caledonia man dies in fatal single-vehicle collision, RCMP investigating

RCMP-1205Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia – Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Friday, at 4 p.m. in Simpson’s Corner.


collision-2223A 25-year-old man from Caledonia died when his truck left Highway 208 and went into the ditch. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Preliminary investigation has determined that another vehicle was involved, which left the scene shortly after the collision occurred. At 7:15p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP located and arrested the 34-year-old driver of the other vehicle in Pleasant River, Queens Co., for Impaired Driving, Failing to Remain at the Scene of a Collision, and Dangerous Driving. He will appear in Lunenburg Provincial Court at a later date.

A collision analyst will be attending the scene.
