Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision 2 kms West of Little Smoky

Fox Creek, Alberta – At approximately 0300hrs on the 21st of September, 2016, Fox Creek R.C.M.P. were called to a motor vehicle collision near Little Smoky, Alberta. (Little Smoky is approximately 55 kilometers west of Fox Creek on Highway 43).


The caller advised that a westbound vehicle on Highway 43 had struck a semi-trailer that was parked on the right hand side of the highway. The vehicle caught fire.

Fox Creek Fire Department and E.M.S. responded. The fire was extinguished and a deceased was located inside the burnt vehicle.

The gender and identity of the deceased is unknown. R.C.M.P. and the Medical Examiner’s Office are working on identifying the deceased.

The investigation is continuing, Police are enquiring as to why the semi truck and trailer were parked on the right hand side of Highway 43. Anyone who may have witnessed this collision west of Little Smoky, is asked to call Fox Creek R.C.M.P. at 780-622-3580.
