Wetaskiwin RCMP investigate assaults against students

Wetaskiwin, Alberta – On September 16, 2016 at 10:19 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a complaint of bottles being thrown at a school bus in the Wetaskiwin High School parking lot. Students on the school bus were from a visiting football team out of Rocky Mountain House.


As a result of the actions of the suspects, one window was broken on the school bus and two students suffered minor injuries.

“It’s disappointing for members of our community to act in this manner against visiting students” said Staff Sergeant Guy Perreault of the Wetaskiwin RCMP. “We are hoping for the suspects to step forward and take steps towards remedying this situation.”

The Wetaskiwin RCMP are actively investigating this incident and asking for public information in relation to identifying the suspects involved in throwing the bottles.
