Arrest made in downtown Whitehorse gas station robbery, two suspects remain at large

Whitehorse, Yukon – Whitehorse RCMP have arrested one of the three suspects in the September 21st robbery at the Petro Canada gas station on 4th Avenue in Whitehorse.


At around 11:00 p.m. on September 21st, Whitehorse RCMP with the assistance of Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant on a downtown residence. This resulted in the arrest of 18-year-old robbery suspect Timothy McKay and the recovery of several suspected stolen items.

Mr. McKay was the subject of a previous news release from September 8th as he was wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with court imposed conditions.

Mr. McKay is set to appear in Whitehorse Territorial Court today.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious near the Petro Canada gas station in the early morning hours of September 21st, or who may have information on the suspects, is asked to contact police.
