IHIT Investigating suspicious death in Coquitlam

Coquitlam, BC: – On September 23rd, at approximately 6:37 a.m., the Coquitlam RCMP was called to the 4000 block of Quarry Rd, Coquitlam, after receiving a report of an abandoned vehicle.

Upon police attendance, a deceased adult victim was located in the vicinity of the vehicle. Based on the initial phase of the investigation, the death appears to be suspicious in nature.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Coquitlam RCMP.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time. Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
