Motorcycle Rider Killed in Fatal Collision on Highway 40 in Alberta

Grande Prairie, Alberta – At approximately 1020 pm September 23, 2016, Grande Prairie Rural RCMP members attended a two vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries on scene. The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were not injured.


Highway 40 at the Wapiti bridge was shut down in both directions to facilitate the investigation but has since reopened.

The identity of the decease will not be released.


RCMP Investigate Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

Grande Prairie, Alberta – Grande Prairie Rural RCMP members as well as fire and EMS are on scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 40 at the Wapati River bridge. The road is blocked off in both directions for an extended period of time to facilitate their safe investigation of this collision.

Members of the public are asked to use alternative routes to access their destinations.
