RCMP investigates serious collision in Richmond County

Louisdale, Nova Scotia – An 18-year-old woman from Guysborough sustained life-threatening injuries when the vehicle she was a passenger in left the road and hit a concrete culvert just after 8:30 yesterday morning. The 23-year-old driver sustained serious injuries as well. The vehicle was travelling West on Highway 104 near Louisdale at the time of the collision.

An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to the scene to investigate the cause, and there was a detour at Exit 46 for most of the day. The detour slowed traffic but the road remained open.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.

The investigation is ongoing.
