UPDATED: RCMP respond to altercation at a residence in St-Roch

St-Roch, Prince Edward Island – In the early morning hours of Monday, September 26th, 2016, five people drove to a residence on the Clark Road in St. Roch. Two men went into the residence to meet with the homeowner with the remaining three individuals staying in the car.


During the meeting inside the residence, an altercation ensued and there was a struggle for a firearm (shot gun) which was present in the residence. There were no shots fired and there were no serious injuries as a result of the struggle.

The two men that had arrived at the residence fled on foot.

The P.E.I. RCMP’s Major Crime Unit, with the assistance from the RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section, the Police Service Dog and East Prince RCMP, executed a search warrant on the residence and located several shot guns and ammunition.

Six people have been arrested in relation to this incident.

Twenty-four year-old Dylan Chaisson, the home owner, has been charged with various weapon related offences, assault and uttering threats and will appear in Summerside Provincial court on Friday, September 30th at 11:00 a.m.

Nineteen year-old Riley Callin was remanded into custody and will appear in Summerside Provincial court on the same date and time to answer to a charge of robbery.

An 18 year-old Summerside man, an 18 year-old Hope River man, and a 19 year-old, St. Catherine woman were all arrested in relation to the event and released. They are scheduled to appear in Summerside Provincial court on December 15th, 2016.


St-Roch, Prince Edward Island – Shortly before 1:00 a.m. Monday, September 26th, West Prince RCMP responded to an incident in the community of St-Roch.

A struggle was reported to have taken place between several males in a residence in the community and police have arrested two males for their involvement. Several other people who were at or near the residence fled before police arrived. There were no serious injuries as a result of the struggle and there is no danger to the public.

The police investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
