Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Police arrested and charged a 28-year-old man from Medicine Hat, AB, after responding to a mischief complaint over the weekend.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., September 24, 2016, Police received a report that a man was seen taking a backpack from a vehicle after he had broken its window as it was parked at an organization in the area of 17th Street West and Spadina Crescent West. Witnesses who observed the break-in detained the suspect until Police could arrive. While being detained, the suspect assaulted one of the witnesses and uttered threats to cause harm.
Further investigation by Patrol Officers revealed that the man was responsible for two break and enters to a business in the 100 block of 20th Street West as well as attempting to cash fraudulent cheques.
The 28-year-old man is charged with Assault, Utter Threat to Cause Bodily Harm, Break and Enter (x2), Theft, Mischief and Utter Forged Document. He will make his next appearance in Provincial Court on September 28, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.
