Two Grande Prairie Suspects Arrested and Charged With Vehicle Theft in Beaverlodge

Beaverlodge, AB: On Thursday, September 22, 2016 at approximately 8:30 AM, Beaverlodge RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle theft near Valhalla. Local residents of Valhalla observed the stolen vehicle driving in the general area. The vehicle was abandoned north west of Valhalla and two occupants fled on foot.


Beaverlodge RCMP members and Police Dog Services successfully tracked down and apprehended a female suspect shortly after. Police tracked for a significant distance and were not able to find the second suspect.

The investigation lead officers to a nearby location where Police Dog Services established another track and successfully apprehended the second male suspect.

Hope Marlene KNIGHT (26) of Grande Prairie, AB has been charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Stolen Property and was released on her own recognizance.

Chance Thomas VANPETEGHAN (31) of Grande Prairie, AB has been charged with ten criminal offences including Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Conditions. VANPETEGHAN remains in police custody.

KNIGHT and VANPETEGHAN appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on October 20, 2016.
