Attempted Street Robbery And Firearm Discharge in Saskatoon

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – At 9:38 pm on September 28, 2016 the Saskatoon Police Service received a call regarding an attempted street robbery that occurred approximately 10 minutes earlier in McDonald Park located at Massey Drive and Northumberland Avenue.


The 19 year old male victim was walking through the park when he was approached by the two male suspects. One of the males then attempted to rob the victim. The victim grabbed onto the male suspect and a brief struggle ensued. The suspect then pulled a firearm from his waistband and pointed it the victim. The victim then began walking away from the suspects. As the victim was approximately a half block away he heard the firearm discharge.

Suspect #1 (with firearm) is described as being Indigenous in appearance, approximately 18 years old, 5’8-5’9 with a thin build, wearing a black Adidas hat, dark sweater or hoodie and white shorts.

Suspect #2 is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 14 years old, 4’7, wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up.
