Bonnyville RCMP investigate shooting in Iron River

Bonnyville, Alberta – On Sept. 26, 2016 at approximately 7:00 p.m., Bonnyville RCMP responded to a report of man who was shot in Iron River. Members arrived and found the victim was shot once with what was believed to be a firearm. The victim suffered a serious but non-life-threatening injury while he was parked in a vehicle with another occupant and was taken to hospital by EMS. No one else was injured during this incident. The four suspects who were in another vehicle fled the area.


Police made extensive patrols for the suspects and vehicle but they were not located. Police do not believe there is any danger to the public and that the shooting was not a random act.

The suspect vehicle is described as:

• Blue Chevy truck (older model)
• Duct tape covering the back window
