Male stabbed in Nanaimo, B.C., one male arrested

Nanaimo, BC: On Saturday, September 24th, at approximately 4:06 am Nanaimo RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing of a male, in the 200 block of Craig St., Nanaimo B.C.


Investigators spoke with the victim and learned he had a disagreement with the suspect. The victim thought he had been punched however saw blood coming out of his chest area and realized he had been stabbed. His girlfriend drove him to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries.

Nanaimo RCMP officers along with a Police Dog searched for the suspect however were unable to locate him.

On Thursday, September 29, 2016 Nanaimo RCMP arrested 31 yr. old Eric William Irving, of Nanaimo, for aggravated assault. RCMP officers located a quantity of drugs as well as stolen property during their search.

Charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession for the purpose of Trafficking, have been laid against Mr. Irving. He will be appearing in Nanaimo Provincial Court on Friday, September 30, 2016.

The victim was released from hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
