22-year-old Male Arrested after Threats Posted on Social Media

London, Ontario – On Monday, October 3 2016, London Police received information from Western University Campus Community Police that a student had posted on a social media site that he planned to attend Western University with a gun in order to cause harm to individual(s) who were on campus this date.


The London Police Service, in partnership with the University Campus Community Police, investigated this incident.

As a result of this investigation, a 22-year-old male from North York was arrested by London Police in relation to uttering threats to cause death, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. This male currently remains in custody.

The investigation is ongoing, and at this time, it is unknown who the intended target(s) were.
