Brandon taxi stop reveals quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, brass knuckles and a loaded handgun

Brandon, Manitoba – At 1656 hours, police stopped a taxi cab in the 100 block of 18th St in relation to the ongoing firearms offences investigation.

Three suspects were located inside the cab and arrested. The cab and the suspects were searched revealing a quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, brass knuckles and a loaded handgun which was later found to be stolen.

A 39-year-old Dakota Tipi First Nations male, a 25-year-old Brandon female and a 39-year-old Brandon male were all charged with multiple firearms, drug and prohibited weapon offences.

The 39-year-old Brandon male was additionally charged with multiple firearms offences related to the shooting incident from September 24th, occurring in the 300 block of 10th St.

This matter is still under investigation and more charges are pending with further information to be released.
