Calgary Police Investigate Suspicious Death in Rideau Park

Calgary, Alberta – The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has been called out to investigate the suspicious death of an elderly woman in Rideau Park.


At approximately 4:15 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, police were called to a residence in the 3000 block of Rideau Place S.W. for reports that someone had died. A woman, believed to be in her 80s, was found deceased inside the residence. A man in his 80s was taken into custody.

Although it is early in the investigation, it is believed this was a domestic incident and that there is no risk to the public.
