Male charged with Impaired Driving offences following single vehicle collision

Kildare, Prince Edward Island – At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30th, the West Prince RCMP received a 911 call of a collision on Route 12 in Central Kildare. The Alberton Fire Department, Island EMS and the RCMP all responded to the call.


Upon arrival, the investigators determined that a vehicle had failed to stop at a stop sign then went off the road into a ditch. The male driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, received injuries and was transported to the Prince County Hospital by Island EMS. He was later released from the hospital.

The driver, a 34 year-old male from the Murray Road area, will appear in Summerside Provincial Court at a later date to answer to Impaired Driving related charges.

The West Prince RCMP would like to speak with any witness to the collision, or with anyone who may have had contact with the driver in the hours preceding the collision.
