Charges Laid in Saskatoon’s 8th Homicide of 2016

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Members of the Saskatoon Police Major Crime Unit have charged a 28 year old Saskatoon man in connection with a homicide in June of this year.


The accused is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m., October 5, 2016. He is facing charges of Second Degree Murder, Possession of a Weapon For a Purpose of Committing an Offence, and two counts of Breach of Undertaking.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., June 18, 2016, a man was reported to be injured in the 300 block of Avenue E South. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injury.

An autopsy was completed and confirmed the death to be a homicide. The victim’s name was not released at the request of the family.
