UPDATE: Criminal Charges Laid Following Collision Investigation

Blackfalds, AlbertaDylan BEAUCLAIR, age 18 of Red Deer, Alberta has been charged with the following offences in relation to this incident:


• Criminal Code – S. 249(4)(2 counts) – Dangerous Driving Causing Death
• Criminal Code – S. 249(3)(2 counts) – Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm

Dylan BEAUCLAIR was released from custody on his own recognizance with a number of conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Court in November of this year.

Single Vehicle Collision, Two Deceased

Blackfalds, AB. – On July 1st, 2016 Blackfalds RCMP members with assistance from Red Deer County Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle motor vehicle collision east of Red Deer. Upon arrival it was determined that two occupants in the motor vehicle were ejected and passed away on scene. Two other occupants were treated on scene and transported by ground to Red Deer Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The exact extent of the injuries are not known at this time. A fifth occupant was not ejected from the vehicle, treated, taken to Red Deer Hospital and released a short time later.

An 18 year old male from Penhold, Alberta and 16 year old female from Springbrook, Alberta were the two occupants who passed away on scene. Next of Kin notifications were completed, but the identify of both deceased are not being released.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation and further details will be released when available.
