Red Earth Creek RCMP arrest two after stabbing incident

Red Earth Creek, Alberta – On October 4, 2016 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Red Earth Creek RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing that had occurred at a residence in Loon Lake. RCMP members arrived on scene and EMS was treating a male who had suffered a stab wound from an altercation that occurred at the residence between several individuals. The male was taken to hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition. No one else was injured.


Members along with the Edmonton Major Crimes Unit North (MCU) have arrested two youths in relation to this incident.

A 17-year-old male of Peerless Lake and a 17-year-old female of Little Buffalo have each been charged with aggravated assault. They were released with court imposed conditions. The youths cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and are set to appear in Red Earth Creek youth court on October 18, 2016.

As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
