Wood Buffalo RCMP seek public’s assistance in shooting investigation

Fort McMurray, Alberta – Members of the Wood Buffalo RCMP Detachment’s General Investigation Section (GIS) and of the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) from Edmonton are making progress in their investigation of a shooting incident which occurred on October 4, 2016, in Fort McMurray, in which one man was seriously injured.


Information and evidence gathered to date have narrowed the focus of the investigation to the immediate area surrounding the Moxie’s Grill & Bar located at 100 – 9521 Franklin Avenue in Fort McMurray. Specifically, police would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the parking lot of the restaurant or inside of Moxie’s Grill & Bar between the hours of 7:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. on the night of Tuesday, October 4, 2016.
