Brandon Police Believe House Struck by Bullets was Targeted

Brandon, Manitoba – The Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating an incident in the 300 block of Russell St. A house in the 300 block of Russell St was struck by bullets early Monday morning.


Several calls were received by BPS around 4:30 am reporting the sound of gunshots in the area. Officers patrolled the area extensively at the time however no suspects were located and no damage was located.

Later Monday morning, the owner of a house in the 300 block of Russell St reported finding damage to the residence that appears to have been caused by bullets. The Criminal Investigations Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit attended to the area and processed the scene, and confirmed there were several bullet holes in the residence. The investigation is ongoing and officers believe this incident is related to other recent firearm calls in the area. The residence, which was vacant at the time, appears to have been targeted and this was not a random occurrence.
