Break Ins To Vehicle and Garages in South East Saskatoon

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – The Saskatoon Police Service is recommending residents remove garage door openers from parked vehicles, following a number of break ins to vehicles and garages in Saskatoon’s southeastern area.

Over the weekend Police received reports of 21 break ins on the east side, 13 of those were to vehicles and garages in southeast neighbourhoods like Stonebridge, Lakeview and Lakeridge. In many cases thieves had entered parked vehicles, retrieved the garage door opener left inside, and entered the garage through the overhead door to steal items.

Home and vehicle owners are advised to ensure their property is secured. Garage door openers, keys and valuables should be removed from parked vehicles and kept inside the home.

Anyone with information on the weekend incidents or any others is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
