UPDATE: Regina Police Continue Investigation of Deceased Person Found in Home, Victim Identified

Regina, Saskatchewan –  The Regina Police Service is continuing the investigation into the death of a person whose body was found, yesterday (October 11, 2016) in a house‎ in the 1500 block McTavish Street. Police have now confirmed the identity of the deceased person. The investigation is being carried out in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, Regina Fire and Protective Services and the provincial Fire Commissioner’s office.

The deceased person is 31 year-old Ryan Daniel SUGAR, DOB: 1985-05-09 of Regina. His family has been notified of his death.

The investigation into the circumstances of Ryan SUGAR’s death is continuing. Anyone who may have information that could assist in this investigation is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Death investigation follows discovery of a deceased person in Regina residence

Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Police Service is conducting a death investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Regina Fire and Protective Services. The death investigation follows the discovery of a deceased person in a residence, in the 1500 block of McTavish Street, that was the site of a large fire on October 5th. At the time, the premises were searched as well as could be, given the extreme heat and the instability of the structure.

The identity of the deceased person is not yet known. It is not possible, at this time, to confirm the gender of the deceased person. Investigators are waiting for the results of an autopsy, ordered by the Office of the Chief Coroner, to assist in identifying this person. In the interim, the house is being held as a potential crime scene.
