Nine Reports of Theft from Autos Over Long Weekend, #StAlbert

St. Albert, Alberta – From Friday October 7, 2016 to Monday, October 10, 2016 St. Albert R.C.M.P. responded to 9 complaints of theft from vehicles. The thefts occurred in the areas of Grosvenor Boulevard (3), Oak Vista Drive, Kendall Crescent, Garraway Place, Falcon Crescent and Springfield Crescent.


Items stolen ranged from a licence plate, insurance/registration papers, a GPS, a wallet, a first aid kit, keys, a garage door opener, an iron-man watch and various tools. Also stolen were items of considerable value; a large compressor, a Dewalt chop saw, sawzall, reciprocating saw, circular saw and a Llenovo Thinkpad laptop.

St. Albert R.C.M.P. wish to remind residents once again, to ensure valuables are either removed from the vehicle or stored out of sight. In many of the cases reported, the vehicles had been left unlocked. Most often theft from vehicles are a crime of opportunity where would-be thieves will walk through neighborhoods looking for unlocked vehicles and open garage doors.
