Edmonton male arrested for drug trafficking following vehicle stop on Highway 16

Sherwood Park, Alberta – On Friday September 16, 2016 at approximately 11:29 a.m. Strathcona County RCMP Municipal Traffic Services stopped a vehicle westbound on Highway 16, Sherwood Park, Alberta for a traffic violation. During the course of the investigation the officer determined that there were drugs in the vehicle and the male driver was arrested.


Subsequently the vehicle was searched and police located what is suspected to be over 44 grams of cocaine, 15.52 grams of ketamine, 28.36 grams of methamphetamine, cannabis resin and drug paraphernalia.

Police learned that the male was a suspended driver and on several conditions relating to two separate recognizance out of Edmonton and Stony Plain.

Chad Michael BECK, age 30 of Edmonton, Alberta was arrested and has been charged with:

  • Six counts of fail to comply with recognizance.
  • Three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • One count of possession of a controlled substance

BECK has been released on a recognizance and his next appearance is scheduled for Wednesday October 19, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in Sherwood Park Provincial Court.
