RCMP Investigate Home Invasion and Shooting on the O’Chiese First Nation

O’Chiese First Nation, Alberta – On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded to an emergency on the O’Chiese First Nation community, where a home invasion had taken place. Three unknown males entered a residence with a firearm, stole numerous items, then departed.


Shortly after this incident, Police responded to a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was air lifted to a hospital in Calgary in critical condition. The male’s condition has been upgraded to stable, with non-life threatening injuries. An intensive investigation has been initiated into both occurrences, which has included the RCMP Rocky Mountain House Detachment, Forensic Identification Services, Police Dog Service, and the Emergency Response Team.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP are urging the public to provide any information they may have as to the identity of the individuals responsible for committing these acts of violence.
