Significant Drug Seizure Leads to Arrests and Charges

Cold Lake, Alberta – During the late evening of Tuesday, October 11, 2016, Cold Lake RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on a Cold Lake South residence. As a result of the search warrant, RCMP arrested (27) year old Kut Maleuth Deng of Regina, Saskatchewan, (20) year old Jordon Myles Skelhorne of Edmonton, Alberta and a (16) year old female from Ile a la Crosse, Saskatchewan, who cannot be named as per the Youth criminal Justice Act. Kut Deng and Jordan Skelhorne are each facing a total of (6) charges. (2) counts of possession of cocaine/crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis marihuana, possession of proceeds of crime under $5000.00, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon while being prohibited. The (16) year old female is facing (2) charges of possession of cocaine/crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5000.00 and possession of cannabis marihuana. Seized in the search warrant was (170) grams of cocaine/crack cocaine, evidence of drug trafficking, $1470.00 in cash, a prohibited edged weapon and a small quantity of cannabis marihuana.

Jordon Skelhorne was released on a recognizance before a Justice of the Peace on $1000.00 cash bail. Kut Deng was released on a recognizance before a Justice of the Peace on $750.00 cash bail. The (16) year old female was released on a recognizance before a Justice of the Peace on $400.00 cash bail. Kut Deng and the (16) year old female remain in custody pending the payment of their bail. Both Kut Deng and Jordon Skelhorne have court ordered conditions not to attend Cold Lake except for the purposes of attending court.
