Second man charged with first degree murder of Christopher Lee Giroux

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section has charged a second man in connection with the homicide of Christopher Lee Giroux, 46.


Yesterday afternoon, Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, Downtown Division members arrested a second suspect, Duncan Farrell, 27, and charged him with first degree murder.

Levi Simpson, 22, was also arrested and charged with first degree murder in connection to Giroux’s death on Sept. 30th.

Investigators anticipate making further arrests in relation to this homicide.


Just after midnight on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, Downtown Division patrol officers responded to the area of 107 Avenue and 110 Street, where Giroux was located with obvious trauma to his chest. He was treated and transported to hospital by EMS, where he died a short time after.
