Slave Lake, Alberta – Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the person responsible for attempting to steal a truck from a residence on 3rd Street SW. At approximately 5:30 am on October 17th, 2016, the Slave Lake RCMP responded to a complaint of an intoxicated male inside a vehicle, attempting to back it out of the driveway of the residence. The owner confronted the male, who then left the area.
The same male returned a short time later and attempted to take the vehicle a second time. The owner again confronted the male, who departed the area on foot. The owner called police, indicating the male was last noted travelling south.
The culprit is described as a native male with a pockmarked face, slim build, weighing approximately 150-160 lbs , 5’8″-5’9″, and appeared to be 30-35 years of age. The male was wearing camo pants, a black jacket and a red hat.
RCMP would like to remind all residents in the Slave Lake area not to leave valuables or keys in their vehicle. Taking these precautions could help defend owners from becoming a target for criminal activity, and could also prevent significant loss or damage to personal property.
