Transport truck and trailer containing frozen chicken stolen

Clair, New Brunswick – The West District RCMP is investigating the theft of two vehicles from locations in Clair and Saint-François-de-Madawaska, N.B., which occurred during the overnight hours between October 14 and 15, 2016.

The first vehicle, a white Freightliner transport truck, model FLD 120, with the name “Nelson Soucy” printed on the doors was stolen from the Nelson Soucy Transport site on Long Boulevard in Clair.

It is believed that this truck was then used to steal a refrigerated trailer from Nadeau Poultry on Commerciale Street in Saint-François-de-Madawaska. The trailer is a 2003 white Hyundai trailer, with “Nadeau Poultry” printed on the sides, and license plate TIE 964 NB. The trailer contained a full load of frozen processed chicken valued at $85,000.

Following the theft of the trailer, the truck is believed to have headed east on Route 120. The transport truck was recovered by police in Quebec near the community of Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, outside of Montreal, without the trailer.

The investigation is ongoing.
