Queens RCMP recover stolen car but driver flees from scene

Canavoy, Prince Edward Island – On Monday, October 17th, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Queens District RCMP received a 911 call from a resident reporting that a vehicle had just gone into the ditch near his residence on Route 351 in Mount Stewart. The caller saw a young male running away from the vehicle, through a field and then towards the river in Mount Stewart.

When police arrived on scene they discovered the vehicle, a 2007 Toyota Camry, was reported to Kings District RCMP as stolen on October 9th 2016 from a address in Canavoy.

The Police Dog Service was called in however police were not able to locate the male.
