Hit and Run to 7-11 Sign in St. Albert

St. Albert, Alberta – On Thursday, October 6, 2016 at approximately 4:15 A.M. a black Jeep Compass (SUV) was involved in a hit and run involving a sign at the 7-11 store located on Akins Drive. Video footage captured the driver of the vehicle backing up quickly towards the doors and knocking over the 7-11 sign, a metal framed sandwich board sign. A male was observed getting out of the vehicle and attempting to pick up the sign while a second male went into the store. When the employee came out to offer assistance she noticed a plastic bag covering the licence plate and became concerned as to the intentions of the two males. The plastic bag had slipped off the plate, allowing the employee to obtain the plate number. The licence plate number obtained was Alberta plate BWD 9426 however the plate did not match up to any known vehicle.

The two males were described as both native males, one wearing dark clothing; a black hat, jogging pants with a yellow stripe and the second male wearing a grey jacket and jeans.
