Nanaimo unsolved crimes Sept 30th to October 12th

Nanaimo, BC – Nanaimo File # 2016-32919 Sometime overnight on Friday September 30th, a male was sleeping in a parking lot near Fifth and Bruce Ave when an unknown person stole his wallet and cell phone. The wallet is red Velcro with a Calgary Flames logo. Also taken was his iphone 5C.


Nanaimo File # 2016-32936 On Sunday October 2nd, at approximately 4:15 pm a bike was stolen from in front of Winners located in the Woodgrove Mall. The bike is a grey dual suspension Kona KEI mountain bike with serial # H4KZ36918.

Nanaimo File # 2016-33111 On Tuesday October 4th, a theft was reported at Friends of Haven Thrift Store located at 451 Albert St. A female had taken three items into the change room and left the store with two of them. She was followed out of the store by an employee and was seen getting into a black pickup with Alberta license plates. The plate obtained was incorrect. The female suspect is white, mid 30’s with shoulder length blonde hair.

Nanaimo File # 2016-33203 On Wednesday October 5th, at approximately 9:15 am luggage and two suitcases were stolen from in front of the Harbor Light Motel located at 200 Nicol St.

Nanaimo File # 2016-33369 On Thursday October 6th, at approximately 12:20 pm a locker at the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre was broken into. Taken were several under armour shirts,car keys, iphone and credit cards. All items except the shirts were recovered in an adjacent locker room. The missing shirts were a black Under Armour and one shirt had the logo of a bear.

Nanaimo File # 2016-33400 On Thursday October 6th, a resident at 415 Chestnut arrived home and interrupted a break and enter to the upstairs unit. The tenant saw a First Nations male, dressed all in black running from the unit and was last seen heading towards Maple St. Police attended but were unable to located the suspect.

Nanaimo File # 2016-33826 On Monday October 10th, a home in the 2500 block of Lynburn Crescent was broken into. It appears the home was entered after pins were removed from the rear door. Taken were coins and jewelry, valued at approximately $11,000. Some of the stolen items consisted of the following: Agate ring, 5 silver chain bracelets, star sapphire ring with small diamonds, Native American Indian turquoise silver rings , Moonstone earrings, and an antique gold baby locket.

Nanaimo File # 2016-34071 On Wednesday October 12th, a bike was stolen from the backyard of 430 Larch St. The bike is a blue and grey 2003 Davinci Chilipepper with serial # 75420133.
