UPDATE: Charges laid in homicide near Fox Drive – Edmonton

Edmonton, Alberta – Edmonton Police Homicide detectives have charged a man in relation to the weekend homicide near Fox Drive.

Connor James Miller, 21, has been charged with second degree murder, possession of a weapon dangerous purpose, assault peace officer and resist arrest.

Police believe an altercation took place between the accused and the deceased, who knew each other.

Edmonton Police investigating suspicious death near Fox Drive

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section is investigating a suspicious death near Fox Drive.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 police were dispatched to a trouble not known around 8:30 p.m. at the Alfred H. Savage Centre near Fox Drive. Upon arrival, police found a deceased 19-year-old male.

A 21-year-old male suspect was taken into custody nearby, however no charges have been laid at this time.

Police believe the suspect and deceased were known to each other.

Fox Drive was shut down for several hours last night for the investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24, 2016.

Homicide Section continues to investigate.
