Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – On October 21, 2016 at 7:53 pm, the Saskatoon Police Service received a call that a man was stabbed at a residence in the 1800 block of 20th Street West. Upon arriving, police located the victim who had been stabbed several times. Approximately 6 minutes later police received another call from a home in the 400 block of Avenue U South reporting that a male had broken into the residence and was threatening the occupants with a knife. Police attended and located the male suspect who was placed under arrest. Through investigation, it was determined that the same suspect was responsible for both incidents.
The 24 year old male has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Break and Enter, Assault with a Weapon and several counts of breaching a court order. The victim of the stabbing was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries which are non-life threatening.
